About the Faculty
The Faculty of Human Formation is the foundational Faculty of CYTOG HUMAN FORMATION AND LEARNING — the intellectual home of the Institute’s governing field. Every specialized domain of formation studied elsewhere at CYTOG, from consciousness to character to identity, answers to the general theory of Human Formation this Faculty maintains and coordinates.
The Faculty’s central premise is that a human being is not fully described by what they know. Formation names everything that happens beyond information — the shaping of character, the maturing of judgment, the deepening of identity — and its eight Departments study that process from complementary angles: the interior life of consciousness, the architecture of character, the arc of human development, the formation of identity, the dynamics of transformation, the reach of human potential, and the work of healing and restorative care.
